Aurora Rise Looking to Continue Support for Theater Survivor, Stefan Moton

By on Jul 19, 2015

The events of July 20, 2012 marks a day that changed a lot of lives. Especially Stefan Moton who was shot through the spine and left paralyzed from the chest down while attending a midnight screening of the Dark Knight Rises. Over the past couple years Aurora Rise, a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded to provide direct support to those people affected by the Century 16 Aurora Theater Shooting on July 20, 2012, has been providing financial support for Stefan and his family. We have continued to use superheroes to inspire the community through our fundraisers and events. We have worked with dozens of artists who donate comic book sketch covers for us to compile into compilations sketch books, the profits from which go to support our mission. With your help, Aurora Rise is looking to expand help our support for Stefan and his family with the purchase of a Handicap Van. We are looking to purchase a handicap accessible van to provide a stable source of transportation for the people we help who need it most. Donate below and Aurora Rise will use 100% of the funds raised to support Stefan Moton and his family.  ...

IndieGoGO – Aurora Rise – Coffee Table Art Book

IndieGoGO – Aurora Rise – Coffee Table Art Book

By on May 23, 2015

Aurora Rise has seen the power of superheroes up close as we have worked with comic creators, publishers, writers, artists, and cosplayers to bring the Aurora community together. In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, many people in the comic book industry reached out to local comic book store, All C’s Collectibles, to see how they could help. Aurora Rise’s first fundraiser in August of 2012 brought together comic book artists for a signing event and a live auction with thousands of donations, many from the comic book industry. We have continued to use superheroes to inspire the community through our fundraisers and events. We have worked with dozens of artists who donate comic book sketch covers for us to compile into compilations sketch books, the profits from which go to support our mission. With your help, Aurora Rise is looking to expand with our next project. We want to work with artists to create a compilation coffee table style art and scrap book that tells the story of Aurora Rise and the people we have been working with, while compiling amazing superhero art work. We will use the funds raised from selling the book and excess funding to expand our own programming to include memorial scholarships and more. Learn more about the IndieGoGo Campaign...
